The Concept
«Italia Sixtina» offers you the opportunity to discover Italy in a totally original way : through accomodation in some of the many religious structures scattered across the Italian mainland, Sardinia and Sicily. All accomodations are religious etablishments or have religious origins. It is therefore advisable to respect their individual spirit which varies according to the category of accommodation. Some are subject to more or less strict opening hours. Others present no hourly constraints. This depends on whether the establishment is still religiously active or whether it has been converted into a religious etablishment geared towards tourist accomodation (former monasteries or convents for example).
The interest of this option is the secured
discovery of Italy and its islands through the serenity and conviviality of its religious etablishments.
• You may rest assured that this unusual option will allow you to carry out your visiting program through Italy exactly as any other traveler would.
• This uncommon type of accommodation will however require from you a degree of flexibility and adaptability. It is advisable to reserve services well ahead of time for the main Italian toursit areas such as Rome, Venice, or Florence.
• All places of accommodation vary considerably one from the other. We tried to establish a classification and a price scale according to the features of each particular one. It is not perfect but such variety made the task a difficult one.
